Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file that a website places in a browser so that the browser can be recognised on the next page or the next visit. Our independent information guide about the Lucky Star casino uses a limited set of cookies to keep pages working, to understand which articles are read and to record the choices a reader makes about cookies.

How changes to this policy are announced

Whenever the cookie set on our guide changes, the text here is revised and the date line at the end of the page moves forward. Material changes, such as a new category of cookie, are described in plain words at the top of the revised policy so that a returning reader notices them before continuing.

Third-party cookies

Some cookies come from outside services embedded in pages, for example a statistics tool or a link that leads to the casino. Such services set their own cookies under their own rules and retention periods. Casino accounts, deposits, bonuses and the casino’s own cookies belong to the operator and are handled by its own support team, which is reached through the live chat or e-mail that the casino offers around the clock.

Consent and changing a choice

What consent covers

Essential cookies are placed because the page cannot work properly without them. Statistics and affiliate cookies are placed only after a reader agrees in the cookie banner that appears on the first visit.

Changing a choice later

A choice is never final. A reader can reopen the cookie settings from the link in the footer of any page, switch categories on or off and save the new selection, which replaces the earlier one at once.

Withdrawing consent

Withdrawing consent stops the optional cookies from being set from that moment. Cookies already stored remain in the browser until they expire or until the reader deletes them, as described in the next section.

Managing and deleting cookies in a browser

A browser has its own controls, and these work alongside the banner on our pages. A typical route looks like this:

  1. Open the privacy or security section in the browser settings.
  2. Find the list of stored site data or cookies.
  3. Select the entries that belong to our guide, or to a third party, and remove them.
  4. Decide whether the browser should block third-party cookies in future.
  5. Reload the page; the cookie banner then returns, and a fresh choice can be made.

Menu names differ between browsers and between phone and desktop versions, but the same four ideas appear everywhere: view, delete, block and set exceptions.

How we use cookies

Keeping pages working

Our guide stores a short-lived identifier so that a page loads in the right layout, remembers whether the banner has been answered and keeps a reader on the same article while a page refreshes.

Understanding what is read

Statistics cookies show us which articles are opened, how long a reader stays and which headings are skipped. The results are combined into totals that guide our editors when they decide which pages to update first.

Remembering preferences

A preference cookie keeps a selected language or display setting. The casino itself offers many interface languages, including English, Portuguese and Spanish, and a reader’s language choice on our guide is stored separately from any choice made inside a casino account.

Types of cookies

Essential cookies

Essential cookies keep the guide secure and usable. They hold the cookie choice, balance traffic between servers and protect forms. They are placed without a banner click because the page depends on them.

Analytics and preference cookies

Analytics cookies measure reading behaviour in aggregate. Preference cookies store display choices. Both are optional and follow the selection made in the banner.

Affiliate cookies

Some links on our guide may be commercial (affiliate) links. When one is followed, a cookie can record that the visit began on our page, so that the casino can attribute the visit. Affiliate cookies are optional and follow the same banner choice.
